chocolates are good for the heart!

I am NOT a doctor nor do i claim to be an expert on nutrition, but i would like to share with you what i found out regarding my favorite sweet - dark chocolate. I love the stuff! ... the darker, the better... i don't care much for milk or white chocolates but hand me a nice dark chocolate (esp. with nuts - yum yum) i will be your friend for life! :)

According to realage.com eating a small piece of dark chocolate can be good for the heart. Quoted below is one of its tip on reducing the risk of heart disease:

Getting a daily helping of chocolate may be one of the sweetest ways to help your heart.

Research shows that eating foods that are rich in catechin antioxidants, such as dark chocolate, may lower your risk of ischemic heart disease. To keep saturated fat intake low, however, limit yourself to one piece of dark chocolate per day and supplement with other catechin-rich foods that are
low in fat, such as apples and tea.

RealAge Benefit: Getting the right amount of antioxidants through diet or supplements can make your RealAge 6 years younger.
